Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® for International Missions
Between the command of Jesus in the Great Commission and the vision of the Great Multitude in Revelation 7:9 is our Great Pursuit. We are present among the lost so they can hear the gospel and be represented around the throne of Jesus Christ for eternity.
Missionaries have counted the cost. Finding Christ worthy, they willingly go to the farthest corners of the earth – the cities, the hard-to-reach places, among the dispersed and displaced. But they do not serve alone. We support them through our prayers, through our giving and sometimes through our own presence.
This Great Pursuit starts with prayer. Will you join us in praying for the missionaries represented in our Week of Prayer guides. May God prepare us for the work ahead as we pray together.
Lottie Moon was sent as a Southern Baptist missionary to China from 1873 to 1912. She saw firsthand the world’s greatest problem -– LOSTNESS. Meeting so many people who had never heard the gospel compelled her to write letters to American churches describing the need for a greater missionary presence.
She pleaded for increased prayer and financial support to send and sustain more missionaries. This challenge became known as the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
Southern Baptists observe a Week of Prayer for International Missions each year as part of the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® emphasis.
Week of Prayer: December 1 – December 8
First Baptist Goal: $10,000
Lottie Moon Post Office
The Kids 4 Truth kids (and leaders) are available to deliver your Christmas cards to those who attend church here.
Here’s how it works:
1. Make out your cards and place them in the basket by the “post office” located in the Welcome Center.
2. Donate the money you would have paid for postage in the container provided.
3. The children will deliver the cards to the families for you.

Church Motto
First......that all may know Jesus.
This is the motto of First Baptist Dayton, TN
taken from 1 Timothy 2:3-5.
"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,"
From the Pastor:
First Baptist Family!
Our world is broken! As I am writing this Russia & Ukraine is heating back up; Israel’s fighting with Iran is ongoing; China is making tough threats. Even the USA is divided in many ways.
We don’t have to look just at Governments, but communities, often churches and families, are also at odds with one another.
This is nothing new! Since the days of Cain and Abel, we have been fighting, arguing, and dealing with hatred in our hearts!
At Christmas time, things seem to be a little better! We see more joy and peace, and folks seem to look for more of a resolution of conflict.
In Isaiah chapter 7, the Nation of Israel was divided with itself and was fighting with Syria but also against their own tribes.
Then the Lord gave Isaiah this prophecy;
Isaiah 7:14 “Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”
And then 2 chapters later…
Isaiah 9:6 “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”
The world changed when the Baby came!
I hope you know the change that
Jesus brings!
Pastor Bob
